Hey guys, so I am trying to turn a DVD into an XVID file, I am following this guide here
    http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/me_gui_convert_to_xvid_page_6.cfm

Whenever I do a single pass, it runs fine, finishes and all is good... but whenever I set it to 2 pass and ive tried a couple different 2 pass presets it gets past pass 1, then past pass 2, then when its time to mux the audio/video together it crashes =/

Here is the error i get and the settings I have everything set to... any help would be appreciated!

If I press "Close Program" it closes and deletes the files it created,, but if before pressing close i go to the folder and run the .avi it made it plays fine... just without sound.. so its pre muxed avi... and it seems like it finalizes the video part since VLC doesnt give any errors about curruption when trying to play it... the .ac3 and .mp3 are in there too, and play fine by themselves...

So the problem is somewhere with MUXING part and only on 2 pass for some reason.. any ideas? (i havent tried anything higher than 2 pass, just 1 pass and 2 pass... 1 pass worked fine).

I think i started to figure it out after about 8 hours straight trying different things...

I went into the actual megui folder and tried running avimux_gui.exe and low and behold same error... so it had nothing to do with megui but was that particular exe....

I right clicked and set comp mode to winxp sp3 and run as admin.... double clicking it fixed the issue... it opened... now lets hope that megui can open it with those settings intact....

trying to encode something now... crossing my fingers... i guess worst case scenario i can use mp4 container...

so i guess issue here is avimux_gui.exe and Windows 7 64bit compatibility... scary thing is.. that exe is from 2006.... doubt anyone will ever update it =/
