You have to place a file named "autoplay.inf" in the root of the disc's directoy structure that points to the application you want it to automatically start when the disc is inserted.

I am not familiar with autoplay.inf but I believe what fbw4 meant was that you have to place autorun.inf in the root directory of the cd. I have actually run into some difficulties using the autorun feature with Windows 2000 but as long as you specify the location of the program you wish to run (e.g. Windows Media Player) you should be alright. If you do a search for "autorun" in the forum you will find quite a few ideas.
Just for completeness you will want a text file named AUTORUN.INF that has the following lines:
[AUTORUN]
open = c:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\mplayer2.exe /play yourvideo.xxx
This example obviously shows how to run Windows Media Player. If you want to do WinDVD or PowerDVD you simply have to put its location in your autorun.inf file.
I hope that helps. -
If you don't mind a bit of typing and want more control, play multiple files etc. see http://www.pcphotovideo.com/burning1.htm
