  1. I can't believe I'm having this problem. It's not even like I'm not familar with codecs and stuff. though I dowlnoaded vegas 9 only a few weeks ago.

So, here's the problem. When I import an avi file in my vegas 9, only the video shows. The audio's not there. It's as if there was no audio with the avi file. the audio codec is mpga. I didn't have this problem until now. Until now, every avi file worked just fine with audio and video.

Only mpga codec audio doesn't work. Mp3 audio works fine and .mp4 video with audio of aac codec works too.

I think I need to uninstall a certain codec that's causing the problem cuz I've installed a few codecs recently. or maybe that's not it. Maybe I need to change a setting in my vegas 9.

What I've done to solve this problem

-uninstall my k lite codec pack and every other codec I had, restart my computer and then install k lite codec and all the other codecs again. But that didn't help at all. it's still the same.
-installed some more codec packs. and some individual audio codecs but didn't help at all.
Someone plz help. What do you think I should do

And BTW, I'm TOTALLY new to this site. This is my first thread. So, this might not have been right place to post this thread. I dont' know.

vegas doesn't have any problem with mpeg audio. it may just be a bad file you got. avi video doesn't normally have mpeg audio.

It's not just one file. There's like more 100 videos like that.

Plus what the heck's the difference between mpga and mpeg. The vlc player said that the audio codec was mpga and you're saying mpeg. I don't really get it
