    Hi!

Be warned, I'm a complete newbi when it comes to ripping and Xvid.

I'v been using AoA DVD Ripper for a couple of trial ripping jobs. Using the default settings for resolution i.e. 720X576.

When I play it in my Samsung Plasma TV the movi appears as ripped in a 720/576 ratio on screen?

When I ripped using AutoGordianKnot the AVI-file seams to auto adjust on the TV. The whole screen fills out (almost). Its quite acceptable but for the ripping speed.

What am I doing wrong in DVD Ripper since I can not get the format right?

Looking forward to your bright ideas/suggestions.

    Thank you in advance

    Cheers,

    Staffan Carlsson

You might check the AGK and the AoA files in MediaInfo and see what the differences are. Probably the frame size. It looks like with AoA you can change the frame size in settings before you encode, but I'm not really familiar with the program. Try setting them the same as AGK if they are different.

    And welcome to our forums.

As redwudz implies, AutoGK is resizing while your other encoder isn't.

So, would you rather have fast garbage or slow quality? To speed up AutoGK run the single pass Target Quality setting at the default 75%. If you want a specific resolution then set the width in Advanced Settings. It'll give you a 720 width by default (I think), but if you want it lower (with the smaller size that goes along with lower resolution) then set it for 640 or whatever.
