I have a video that is a divx/avi file. The aspect ratio is 2.35:1. When I try to convert to DVD using ConvertX to DVD or Cyberlink Power Producer it changes the aspect ratio on the DVD that I create. How can I keep the same aspect ratio? Is there a better conversion software?

    Thanks,

It has to change it so it'll play back at the correct aspect ratio. Are you saying when playing the DVD the AR is off? If so, I'm not sure I believe that. Or are you looking at the unresized 720x480 video? Yes, people are too tall and thin, but when played as a DVD they get 'normal' again. Every AVI to DVD converter does the same thing.

  3. What the software should be doing (assuming no borders in your source) is resizing the source to about 720x360, adding 60 lines to the top or the frame, 60 lines to the bottom (enough to bring the frame up to 720x480), then encoding as 16:9 DVD.

If you have used ConvertX correctly it should not change the aspect ratio of the video, only added borders and resized for 16:9 encoding. The actual image itself should still be 2.35 : 1.
