Hi,
I was wondering what the Hauppauge HD-PVR would look like on a 1920x1200 screen. Does it record on a 1920x1080 resolution?

This is the monitor I am thinking about getting but I want to be sure it won't show the videos at a weird resolution or something.
Thanks.

It will record at the same resolution as the input. If your input is 1080i or 720p, that's what you'll get. No need to worry. :P

Thanks man, appreciate your time.
Now that I know that I do have another question or two though. Ultimately what I want to do is connect the ps2 (component) to my video capture card, then the other set of components on the video capture card to the component connections on the monitor and play the ps2 on that monitor. I'd also like to have a secondary monitor beside that where it will capture what is being played on the other screen through a vga connection. Now my question is, is it possible to have component displayed on one screen, and vga displayed on the other? Sorry if this seems off topic.
Also, I am using my laptop to record ps2 videos now and I noticed they do have deinterlacing problems at times and sometimes the characters kinda flicker (don't know if that's the best word to describe it) around the outside of their body. I can post an example if necessary. I was just wondering if recording this on a better video card would help the situation or not or even if someone knows how to clear this up with some software or something?
Thanks. -

Makes the whole bundle a helluva deal.)
Set bitrate of the capture, etc., and hit *capture*. You'll see it on the second monitor and can go to full screen if you want. But you can do that just as well with only one monitor. Or an HDTV. I use a 42" HDTV as both computer (HDTV) monitor and TV pass through from the HD cablebox -> HD-PVR -> HDTV.
Interlace issues I'll leave to someone else.:P
Good luck.Pull! Bang! Darn! -

No, you can't play games via the HD PVR and just a computer monitor. The video you see on-screen is about half a second behind what's going into the HD PVR. This is too much lag for anything but chess. You must have a component display device attached to the HD PVR's passthrough (no delay there). If your computer monitor has both VGA/DVI and component video inputs you could switch between them.
The HD PVR can't capture 1080p. Only 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i. If the input is interlaced the file you capture will be interlaced. Modern graphics cards have decent deinterlacers. -
My mistake, I forgot about 1080p not being possible, I use 720p. Fixed it.
Nevertheless, you *can* start the capture, switch to pass-through, and no problem. The monitor you linked has the inputs for both component and VGA. So I stand by the possibility of being able to do it with a single monitor. But an HDTV would be better IMO.Pull! Bang! Darn! -
Thanks guys, I appreciate this input and will consider everything said here
