Hi, i was wondering if anyone has any ideas of whats the best codec(container) to use..

for years i would use avi with divx, xvid, etc. and lately i have been using mkv...

also i have been putting all my files in mkv but not sure if thats the best format for quality..

i dont care about size.... i want perfect quality and sound...

    any suggestions
    thanks

The original format (but it won't be perfect since there's no such thing).

Uncompressed, Assuming your machine can 1. Handle playing it back (doubtful) and 2. has the room to store it (more doubtful)

You have to care about size.

mkv is just a container and has no effect on the 'quality' of the contents.
