    i have a avi file with 2 audio channels what program wold be best used to remove one of those channels? i have a program for mkv files but don't know witch one would work for avi

    You could also give AVIMux https://www.videohelp.com/tools/AVIMux_GUI a try. It handels various containers and multiple audio streams and is very quick.
