Hi everybody. This is my first post

I want to know if is there a way to use DivX h.264 decoder to play video with SMPlayer?

That because using MPC (that uses DivX h.264 decoder) I can play smoothly a 1080p movie trailer, but with my SMPlayer (that uses ffh264) I can't.

I prefer to use SMPlayer because I think is better to manage multiple audio tracks and multiple subtitles.

Another question: in SMPlayer is there a way to know what filters are running as in MPC (right click in the video frame -> filter)?

    Thank for your help.

I doubt that because smplayer uses mplayer that only uses builtin codecs.

    What a pity!

I think SMPlayer (frontend of MPlayer) is better than MPC.

    Thanks Baldrick.

  4. DivX H.264 Decoder it's DirectShow filter.

    MPlayer does not use DirectShow.

However... (MPlayer build from SMPlayer) can use (directly) some codecs libraries.
    For example: CoreAVCDecoder.ax, divx.dll, ...
    Unfortunately, not DivXDecH264.ax.

So the only way to get a smooth h.264 video in SMPlayer is to buy CoreAVC

I'll try with ffmpeg-mt to use both the cores of my CPU, if this doesn't work I'll consider the purchase.

Anyway, why if I play the same "problematic" 1080p video using MPlayer using the simple command

    Code:
    mplayer MyProblematicVideo.mkv
I can see it smoothly? How is it possible to know which parameters SMPlayer passes to MPlayer?

    Thanks
