I'm confused since I was able to do so before. Here are the tools that I have tried:
    Imgburn
    Anyvideoconverter
    AVStoDVD
I also tried to change settings manualy with same result.
" Playback feature may not be available on this Disc"
I made sure that options in Imgburn are set on Iso9660+udf 1.02
    What am I doing wrong!!!

    We need more information.

Tried different dvdr media? Use good media, www.nomorecoasters.com
Are you making a PAL or NTSC? Your player might only support NTSC.
    What settings are you changing?

    well, I changed from iso+juliet to iso+udf
also, i just burned the avi with imgburn which i authored with the avstodvd in which the only setting i changed was ntsc to pal and it worked which doesn't really make sense since most of the movies i burned in the past where ntsc. Also, I didn't set the output to device but i created the videots folder and it seems to be working fine now. I just don't understand why wouldn't it work with burning it to device directly (by the way, it worked fine in the past, but i did upgrade the vista to sp2, which sholdn't make any difference to the applications which where already running under sp1). At this point, I'm just trying to find out where the bug is, or am I just stuck on stupid.
