    Hi,

I have tried searching the forum and have always found answers to any questions in the past but alas not this time.

I have a number of DivX files, all from the same source however some are not listed on the DVD player when burnt to a DVD.

I have used GSpot to try and identify any differences but am at a bit of a loss, the only difference I can identify is that next to [USER] on the ones that works it states XViD0055 and on the ones that do not XViD0050. All the topics I can find on this appear to be sound related though and would not account for them not being listed at all.

    Any ideas much appreciated.

EDIT: The sticky at the top of the page did not help either, just so you know I did check before posting this.

As data - just the raw DivX files straight to disc. Never had a problem with playing back any divx or xvid file previously to this and the files play fine on the PC.

I'm going to make a guess here. My guess is that you neglected to tell us that you are burning a multisession disc and that's your problem. Most standalone DVD players will read only the first or only the last session in a multisession burn, but usually it's only the first. A few will read all sessions, but most won't. This leads to the "missing file" problem you describe. The solution? Burn everything in a single session.

I did burn all in one go and always burn in the same fashion with multiple files, never had missing files before.

It's not just the first or last, strangely it is the first two files on the disc which is why I think it may be a codec problem.

Audio is the only thing that trips up my HDD Media player so...I'd venture to say that is also your problem. VBR vs CBR audio perhaps?

You could post GSpot screenshots of the two files here (blank out the path and file names, if you want), and someone might be able to tell what the problem could be.
If cameras add ten pounds, why would people want to eat them?
