    Hi,

I need some help. I have a dvd with vhs footage on it that is directly recorded onto the dvd with a dvd combo drive.

What can I use to rip the footage onto my pc to do some basic restoration on it, without lowering the quality even more.

So I need to rip it to my pc, rework and then get back to dvd again.

    Thanks

if the dvd is written with standard vobs use vob2mpeg to extract the video from the vobs. then your best bet would be to use womble mpeg video wizard(not free) to edit and make changes. it will only re-encode the sections it has to. you can then author the mpeg-2 back to dvd vobs and ifos.
