When I encode a MKV file to AVI, the audio of the AVI suddenly has over 1500 kbps, when I only need 128 kbps. This gives the file insane size, which is useless, since there's no difference.
How do I change the audio settings in VDMod?

  2. streams=>streams list=> right click and select full processing mode => right click select compression

If your audio format is compatible in AVI container , you can just direct stream copy without losing quality

It probably passed the audio through without encoding. If you want to encode the audio to MP3, I would install Lame MP3 as it has more options than the default MP3 encoder.

In VD Mod, you go to 'Streams>Stream list'. R click on the audio stream there and select 'Full processing mode'. R click on the stream again and select 'Compression' and you should have your choices shown. VDM can't always handle direct conversions between audio formats, so if I have problems, I save out the audio as a WAV with full processing and use Audacity to edit or modify the audio, then add it back in with the video.

    And welcome to our forums.

Is there a way to make VDM choose full processing mode automatically, so I wouldn't need to manually change it for every file.
