    What camera ?

Does mediainfo read the file and give you any details ?

Edit : The only reference I could find to the tlx video format was this post : http://help.com/post/78368-does-anyone-know-how-can-i-convert and the pdf link at the bottom. It is the manual for the NetHunter software which can do tlx to AVI conversion (assuming it is the same tlx format). The NetHunter software is available from Mitsubishi, but does not appear to be free (or even cheap, given the lack of a down loadable demo) - http://vis.mitsubishielectric.co.uk/nethunter

Can you play these videos on your system ? If so, you must have a suitable codec. You might be able to open them using DirectShowSource() in avisynth.
