In my previous OS (XP SP3 x86), I installed one of those popular codec-pack and all my FLV clips play smoothly in MPC HC, I can seek fast forward/backward.

In my new OS (Windows 7 Pro x64), I'm going the NO codec-pack way, but now I got a little problem.....MPC HC x64 would play all my FLV clips, however some downloaded stream FLV clips, I could no longer seek fast forward/backward (the same clips which I could FF/FB in my previos OS with the popular codec-pack with MPC HC). I believe something in that codec-pack is needed to play my FLV clips smoothly, is it FLV splitter? if not, what do I need to install?

I read over FLV Splitter a few times, but it's for viewing online contents and NOT for MPC HC, right?

Flash Video (".FLV" extension) is the format used to display video in Flash content. Most Flash Video content is viewed online (on sites such as YouTube), but in order to view .FLV content locally, you need a splitter installed. You will also need an FLV decoder installed. FFDShow can be enabled to play this format. You simply need to instruct it to decode "FLV1" content on the codec section of its configuration page.

    Thanks.

    No. Not for viewing online.

It's internal filter in MPC, also available as external DirectShow filter.

These FLV files contain FLV1 or VP6F or AVC (H.264) video?

    Thank you Placio74

    Mostly 99% VP6F and FLV1.

Previously I installed K-Lite codec pack (which MPC HC is included) and all my FLV clips no matter how bad there were, they all could play smoothly in MPC HC (can always seek FF/ and FB).

Now I try to install MPC HC alone and ffdshow alone, but no matter what I do, all those same FLV clips...most would still play, but majority of them could no longer be seek Fast-Forward or Fast-Backward.

    Help.

  4. Can use internal decoders (by default) or external.

If you want to use external decoders, go to Internal Filters in MPC config and just disable selected filters.

    BTW
Used Media Player Classic Homecinema 1.3.1249.0 or 1.2.908.0 or some devenlopment version?
