I think i may have just screwed up my pc next door.... (in the other room)

It all started with my search companion not working for finding files.
I then looked up on google the error i was getting and people said register these 3 dll files through 'run' which i did... at least 5 times.
I then tried the registry fix and had no luck...
I was a little reluctant to do this following one as it has caused problems before but i thought sod it and went ahead and did it.
    inserted my xp cd, start>run>sfc/scannow.
I let it complete but it sitll didnt fix my search issue.
So i then went into the system root and tried installing an .inf file which i saw off a forum someone mention it then asked 4 my xp cd again so it seemed to copy the i386 dir from cd to my original one on the pc.
    Didnt fix the search!
    Restarted, now my problems begun.
There was this problem, i cant remember what it was but it made me do an anti spyware scan with 'Super Antispyware'
It found 'Trojan.Errorsafe' I then expanded the box and it bought up like every single '.exe' file on my pc. I then quarnetined them thinking that it would be the virus infecting them it god rid of but no! it got rid of all my .exe files!
I was then getting 'Visual Basic errors popping up left right and centre regarding 'Program Files'

Anyway i restored the files from quarantine and got them all back. Thought everything was ok.
But now not only does the net not work next door but when i start mozilla its throwing java errors up at me.

    I am in one pickle!

    Pls help.

    Cheers guys.

  2. i'd be backing up any documents/pictures/videos/music/etc. to a secondary hard drive if i were you. the next step is to format C: and re-install windows. i wouldn't even try fixing that one, and i've been repairing pc's for nearly 25 years.

the good thing is you have the windows disc.
