I need this for a project I am working on.
I want to have a set of controls hidden away.

So basically I need a recessed box that I can flush mount on to a control panel. Now there are plenty of these out there but they all just have standard screw on covers.
I want one that will have a nice cover that flips up on a hinge and simply closes when not in use.
Aesthetics are very important here. I need this to look good as well as be functional.

I have seen something like this about 10 years ago in a college. Some kind of AV class or something and each desk had one with some audio video jacks hidden away in them.
I have searched for a few hours online with no luck....just the standard boxes with screw on covers.

Hopefully maybe some here can help....

    TIA!

Also, need one other thing here...I have not searched yet but while I'm here I might as well ask.
I also have some logitech pc speakers I have mounted in this. They are recessed. The covers they came with are not going to work because of how I have them mounted. I need some kind of cover I can mount over my opening (approx. 4" x7 1/2"). Obviously with plenty of holes since it will be covering speakers.

BTW: this is all for a MAME cab if anyone is curious.

No idea how to help you but when you get done I'd love to see the pics of the final product.

I read an article in maximum pc about building an arcade emulator but have neither the time or the funds right now to do so. But man it would sure be fun and I know my kids and I would have fun with it.

    Good luck to you.

I will probably put a very detailed post over at the 'Build Your Own Arcade Controls' forum when I am done or getting close.
I actually used to build and sell control panels for these back in the day...1997-98ish.

The machine I am working on now will be by far the most involved project of this sort for me.
The cab is actually done being built but still have quite a bit to do yet as this will have a few features not found in to many cabs such as an auto rotating monitor.
I'll be sure to post a link when I make the post though.
