  1. Hi,

I have 2 files capture with the exact same format (3000 kbs CBR 480x480 MPEG-2, 44 000 16 bit stereo sound). One file is short with a size of 12 megs and the other one is 2.8 gig. Both files where capture with Ulead VideoStudio using the same settings

TMPGENnc can convert the small one with no problem but the big one produce a mpeg with no sound.

Could it be that TMPGEnc has a filesize limit of 2 gig? If so, what can i Do about it?

    Thanks

I have a similar problem the other day with a large AVI (huffyuv) file the otherday. But then I did some more, of the same size, and it worked so I still don't know what caused it, so hopefully someone else has an answer to that.

But, you may be able to recover the thing without too much effort (ie complete reencode). If you can produce an mp2 file of the audio (either directly from Ulead or by outputting to .wav and then converting in TMPGEnc) you can then just multimplex the video with the audio (that's what I did anyway, and I guess it saved me about 5 hours of waiting)

I would also like to give an opinion on your process. It seems to me that you are converting and MPEG file to MPEG. This seems a waste of effort and a probably cause of severe quality loss. You may be able to capture directly in Ulead to the format you want, and if it's not correctly padded etc for SVCD (which I guess you are doing) then just demux and remux in something like TMPGEnc, with SVCD setting. (Of course this may be what you are doing...in which case I apologise for assuming otherwise). For best quality, IMO, capture to .avi (huffyuv) and do all your conversion in something like TMPGEnc where you have some control over the encoding process.
