The following seems to occur once every few months or so: I receive an email notification of some new reply to a thread I have previously posted in, but when I click on the link in the email, I hit a locked door at VH informing me that I do not have the rights to access that section. I don't see where that should happen, because I had already been in that thread, if I previously posted there. Even if it was a case where the mods had locked a thread, past messages should still be viewable, and I don't think any of these involved locked threads in any case.
Latest example:
https://forum.videohelp.com/topic366166.html?highlight=questions about media player classic cinema
I am barred from going there via the email notification link, yet I can still get there from a keyword forum search. What's up with that ?
Curiously enough, the email thread-update notification shows the beginnings of a message I don't find in the thread itself. It mentions Moovida, and sounds a lot like a Spam promo. Perhaps this offers a clue . . . but I would be surprised if someone has gone to the trouble of spoofing your email notifications with fakes. PayPal or CC phishing scams I could understand. There does not seem to be much of an upside to faking something from VH.
I think a more likely explanation would be that there are URL errors (somehow) being generated in some of these notifications. Or maybe some sort of cross-linkage of threads ?

When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form.

It's probably spam posts and they are deleted and moved to a closed forum section. So the email notification link wont work.

It's also possible that the threads might just have been moved to a different forum and that broke the link. The 'moovida' one may have been the results from a spammer. If this happens often, you could delete your VH cookie in you browser and get a new one and that may help.
