I have just installed the above mentioned M/B and am getting no response from the USB ports. I have 2 USB 2.0 thumb drives attached however they are none operational. Would really appreciate help from any member using the same board who can explain what is causing the problem.

That is a old model motherboard.
Did you check the BIOS to see if they are enabled? They may just be bad. Check Device manager to see if windows thinks they are working.
Suggestion: Buy a cheap USB2 pci card. -
