I'm trying to back up a dvd. It's a dvd-9 and I want to leave out a lot of bonus/extra material to put it on a dvd-5. So, I'd like to edit the menu. This is pretty elaborate touchup work in the graphics program.

But, last night as I was watching a chapter from this disc, I hit the "stop" button. This caused the disc to go to a screen that had the same picture as the menu screen but no writing on it.

Great! I thought I'd just pull out that still with pgcedit, it would be far easier to use that to create a new menu.

But, I can't find it. Not in pgcedit and not in vobblanker.

    What's up?

Go back into vobblanker and double click on each item in upper window to have a new vobblanker window show ... if multiple items appear listed again, repeat ... you might have better luck locating it now.

Pgcedit has a problem with some menu functions I dont recall off hand ... but, visit menu's and double click those to bring up new window displaying the menu in question ... at the top of this new window of pgcedit the bar can be selected and multiple menu items will be listed if they exist as a drop down selection... I think it was here that pgcedit has issues with some sort of modifications but I can not be sure ... give it a try.

If you just want to export a frame, you can drag the menu file (it's either VIDEO_TS.VOB or VTS_0x_0.VOB) to DGIndex, browse for that (key) frame and use 'save bmp' command from 'file' menu.
