Does anybody have any experience with this device? I already have a Canopus ADVC110, but I need an external device that can capture component and works on a Mac. It does encode to h.264 in hardware, but I don't have any idea what quality or profile, or if it interlaces/drops half fields or not.
The real question is, does it compare with the DV that Canopus puts out, or is it not even slightly comparable? I also have my eye on the Blackmagic Design Pro Recorder, but that device isn't out yet, but I assume it's based on the same hardware encoder.
