I have a avi of my wife talking. When I run it through tmpgenc, with the avi as both the video and audio source, using a SVCD NTSC (no film) template, the audio is a little off. Her voice sounds higher, and possibly faster, than normal. I am using the very latest tmpgenc. Is there anything I can do to make the mp2 sound like the avi? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Almost certainly the no. of frames per second (fps) ot the original avi is different to the fps of the newly created mpeg, resulting in the stretched audio you describe.
Solution, match source and target fps, if you have to change them to conform to some dvd player specs, and the audio is in sync, you will have to do some audio editing and find a way to fiddle with the pich in a dedicated audio package. I havn't done it so can't help there.
