Today, I tried opening Mozzila Firefox browser, but after only a few seconds it stops working and has to exit.
FLV player is the same, no matter how much I try to open an FLV file, it won't respond.
Although Internet Explorer and Windows Media related files still work

If you are wise enough to backup your Firefox profile with something like Mozbackup, you maybe able to restore Firefox.

Or do what I do to backup everything, including all add-ons and their settings
If using WinXP just copy the mozilla folder from the application data folder for the current profile and thats it, if your install screws up or you have to reinstall Windooze then reinstall FireFox and after running it the first time simply copy back that folder to the Application Data folder and all your settings are perfect again
Saved me aggrevation loads of times trying to remeber all the settings for various add-ons I use, like tab plus and the very handy adblock plus with the even better elements adblock addon
