I am REALLY in need of help at this moment.
Someone recorded some football footage from a game at the weekend on a Panasonic NV-GS17EB Mini DV camcorder.
Throughout thefootage there was a lot of obsene language that I need to get rid of. Can anyone help.
I am using either WinDV, Windows Movie maker, or anything anyone can suggest.
I need to import the whole game on to a external HD so I can give it back to the club to raise funds for them.
Please help I am desperate and this is quite urgent as I need to set some test footage to the CLub either tonight ot first thing in the morning.
Thanks in advance.

One option would be to "beep" or censor out the profanity in those sections
Depending on the frequency range and surrounding noise, you could also try using an audio editor that visually shows a spectral graph (e.g. soundbooth) and if the swearing is distinct enough, you can isolate and cut out those specific sections, but leave the rest of the audio intact - this might be difficult if you had a rowdy match -
It's pretty constant throughout.
How could I import the footage and bring the sound input in at a very low level or removed completely. This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. -
Putting URGENT , Desperate, or any such things will not get your questions answered any faster. I'm sure that everyone posting needs their question answered immediately.
After nearly five years here, you probably already know that -
I do know that .. yes ... but on this occasion it really is ...

If it occurs every second beeping it out isn't very feasible (you would have essentially the whole audio censored), it might be better just to remove the audio, ie. use blank audio (silence), or even another audio track (e.g. a music track or something that fits the theme of the match)

If it's DV-AVI, you could import it into VirtualDub, (I prefer VD Mod for this.) then save out the sound as a WAV with full audio processing, then import that to Audacity and work your way through it. Audacity can put in silence or other sound in place of the problem audio. Don't cut out the problem audio or you will have sync problems. But it will take a while.
Then when you are done, add the WAV back into VirtualDub and disable or delete the original audio and resave the file with Direct Stream copy on the audio and video. That will mux the new audio back with the file. If you need a DV codec for VD(M), there's several in our 'Tools' section under 'Codecs'. I would try the Cedocida DV Codec. You can also edit the video/audio after you have repaired the audio and added it back.
VD can also frameserve the output from VD to a MPEG encoder if you need a DVD MPEG format and you want to save some HDD space. -
Thanks.
I am going to have to delete out the audio just for now and then do this once I get the time to do the full DVD edits. This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. -
The same people buying the DVD are probably the ones cussing, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Missing audio, or replacement beeps, will sound equally as awful as "kick their bloody ******* ass". It's all equally annoying to the listener/viewer.

I know some of them will ... Just there will be a lot of the Junior section of the club wanting copies too.

I would agree with poisondeathray. If you can find some suitable martial music, just add that in lieu of the live audio track and everyone may be happy. If you have shots of the crowd standing and cheering and keep a shot of the scoreboard on the screen after goals, they will probably think you have made a masterpiece. A few cannon shots help after goals.
Think, 'The 1812 Overture' by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Works well with most football games.
If you need the score to be more obvious, consider subtitles. Easy to add and great impact.
And probably a whole lot easier that trying to strain out obcenities from the audio track of a football match.
