  2. Without knowing your budget limitations, I can only offer an opinion on what I use and it works well. The Pinnacle DV500 can control your DV cam and comes bundled with Adobe Premier and Impression DVD. I make mostly VCD's and use AVIsynth plugin for Premier and TMPGEnc to convert to MPEG1. I have made DVD's using both Sonic product and Impression and both seem to work well for me.

As far as DVD burners go, I looked for a long time for a good DVD burner and since I had 3 hard drives in my PC (1 for audio as I have a recording studio, 1 for video and 1 for programs) I could only use one drive, thus I chose the Pioneer DVR-A03 since it writes to DVD-R, DVD-RW, CDR and CD-RW. It's slow for CD work (8x max) compared to other CD recorders, but the compatibility and versatility make it worth the extra few minutes when burning. You can get this drive for about 350.00 or so on the net.

Good Luck dude! Let me know if I can be of any further help! 8) 8)
