"demux"-what is it?

i need to "demux" a file in TMPGEnc.
but i have no idea what that means or how to do it ...
can someone please tell me what is "demux"
and how do you do it? i'm using TMPGEnc.

in tmpg ..goto file....mpeg tools....and select what u want to do
