You should be able to download the RC on May 5, 2009 - I'm going to because I am very happy with the beta (using it as I'm typing this), and it should work until June 2010.

Yawn......
Oh wait we're supposed to be excited right???
I know I am a Microsoft supporter but I have no need for a new OS. I have XP on my emachine and I have Vista Premium 32bit on my dual core HP.
I will get Windows 7 on my next machine - whenever that is. Though if it is one I build I may stick with Vista because I know it.Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
My TechNet Plus subscription was approved so I'm downloading x64 and x86 images now. I have a junker laptop that is going to be a mini-HTPC and will be using this version of 7 as its base. We'll see just how versatile it is when it's confined to that hardware. I will also be updating my x64 VM to test out IE8 and some other features. No way will I run pre-release software as my primary OS on my main workstation.

Today (April 30) the RC is available to MSDN subscribers and TechNet Plus subscribers.

On Tuesday, May 5 (PST), the RC will be available to everyone via our Customer Preview Program. As with the Beta, the Windows 7 RC Customer Preview Program is a broad public program that offers the RC free to anyone who wants to download it. It will be available at least through June 30, 2009, with no limits on the number of downloads or product keys available. -
I think that I will switch over, about a year from release. I've been trying out the beta, and it works great for me. Much better than Vista, IMO.
