Hello everyone. I am new here and this is my first post. I did not see a forum for this topic so I am posting it here.
I am a guitar player and I would like to be able to slow down video but not change the pitch of the sound. I know about one pay program that I can buy but for now I am looking for something free. I have heard that there are ways to do it but I have never really found any info on it. So that's about it. I want to be able to slow video down but keep the pitch of the sound the same.
Thanks for any help.

Vegas can do this, however you can only do this to a certain degree before you start to introduce artefacts into the audio. You may find you have to do this in two passes - one to alter the speed of the video, the other to create matching audio, but it can all be done form the Vegas timeline.

Try Avisynth's "TimeStretch" filter:

If it's a AVI type format, you can use VirtualDub and mux out or save the audio as a WAV, then, in the 'Video' menu, change the 'Source rate adjustment' to something low like 15fps (~1/2 speed) and convert it back to 29.970 (NTSC) or whatever the original was, in 'Frame rate conversion' and save it. Check the running time in VD and use Audacity to stretch the audio to match the video length, then correct the pitch. Then mux that audio back with the video and save it and the video in 'Direct stream copy.' I haven't done that for a while, but it should work if you don't have to stretch the audio too far.
