I have a video that was encoded where the movement in the video is not quite at 2x, but maybe 1.5 or so? I was wondering if through encoding, I could reduce the speed so it becomes "normal". Can I do this with Virtual dub?

    thanks

  2. Depending on the kind of video, you might be able to do it without reencoding the video. You'll have to stretch the audio, though, and the result may not sound pretty. What kind of video is it? If AVI, you can slow it down by adjusting the framerate in Video->Framerate->Source Rate Adjustment, or whatever it's called in VDub.

VD can do that. What I've done is use the Video framerate controls. Change the 'Source framerate' to a lower number, then in the 'Frame rate conversion'>'Convert to fps:', change back to the original framerate or desired framerate. Probably better done with AVISynth, but it works for me.

Best for creating simple slo-mo effects. For what you want, you can probably just change one of them. Easy enough to try it and see how it works for you. Use a short clip for experimenting.

Try Videostudio X2 PRO. You can slow down or speed up the video and try it out to suit your taste. Simple to use.
