Conversion stops halfway through

I'm trying to convert a .wmv file to .mp4 using winavi mp4 converter but it keeps stopping about halfway through... I've tried converting it to avi first, using winavi video converter (this has worked in the past with .wmv files), but I get the same issue. I've also tried using avidemux and some generic avi fixing program with the same results... the wmv file plays fine and I can use the seeker bar... it just won't convert successfully... any suggestions?

Try fix the wmv using asfbin, add it and make a new wmv. Or use windows movie maker, add the wmv and convert to a new wmv/dv-avi that might work better to convert.
