    hi

i want to make a chapter menu in dvd architect (like the chapter menu in the lord of the rings). This menu will have a window (as single window) where it can be view a 15 seconds test of the track when i select the button of the track (not pushing the button, only slect). i think it can be made with dvd scripts, but i donīt know how to use it, and if is not possible qith script i want to know how. here i left an explanation of the script, but is for vegas, not for dvd architect (i want to do the same in my menu)

In the "testpattern.js" script, is almost at the end of the scripts.

    thanks for answering.

What you are talking about is a switched menu that uses an auto-select on the button so that as you move up and down the button, the actual menu changes. It is not difficult to do, but it takes planning and can be time consuming. It is not something that can be scripted or is done from Vegas.

Effectively you have to create multiple copies of the menu, each with a different clip. You create menu 1, and it plays clip 1 in the background (for example). If you move down to button 2, button 2 is configured (in DVDa) to automatically call Menu 2, which shows button 2 highlighted, and has a different clip in the background. On menu 2, button 1 and button 3 are configured to link automatically to their respective menus. This patter is repeated for as many buttons as you need.

Note : switched menus can slow navigation. Each time you move to a new button, a new menu has to load. This means a break in any music you have playing, and a pause while the next asset is located and loaded.
