    I've encoded to they 2 folder outputs.can i just plain these as files on a dvd and have it work in a player or do these have to be used in conjunction with other software the adds the dvd(sturucture) component?

    Does the VIDEO_TS folder have IFO, BUP, and VOB files - if so, then it would play. If it does not have all these files, it needs to be authored to DVD.
