Looking for a good Media Center Program with Remote....

I am a newbie at all this.

Recently built a computr to use for storing videos I download , TV shows, Music, photos ECT.

I have it hooked to my 53 Inch Projection HDTV, a older model with a DVI port.

I conenct it to a video card with a DVI connection. and use the Beyond Media software and firefly remote that came with it.

I like it but the Beyond Media software is very buggy.

I am running windows XP Home, and have random errors, saying the program is non responsive, or an error has occured and needs to shut it down and asks me to send the info to Microsoft, ect. Even though the program was working fine, some glitch happened. This happens every so often.

I downloaded XBMC, which works smooth, but the remote doesnt work other then up and down and select.. The play/start/ect buttons dont work. I looked on Firefly's website and since they dont support this software anymore, not much help.


Im looking for somthing not too expensive, under $50.00 if I can. I don't have a lot of cash to spend on somthing new.

Mainly just want to be able to put together all the shows I download to use the remote to open up the folders and play from there, rather then getting up every time to start it from the computer.

For the short while that I had a HTPC setup, I was running XP MCE.
