Perhaps there is no forum for a hardware question about tripods . . .
I have a just picked up a manfrotto 161 tripod (previously enjoyed) and was looking at the way the head is attached. I cant figure out how to remove the head. Anyone out there familiar with Manfrotto tripods?

There is a still camera head on it now, I want to swap it off for a video head (fluid panning head).

    Thank you

Okay, I have loosened the three grub screws and cannot get the head to unscrew. The center post (shaft) is turning, even though I have hand tightened it as much as I can. Anyone have any non destructive ideas?

The models I've used in the past had twist rings or levers for release. I'm not familiar with the still camera models.

Maybe if you list the head and tripod detail model numbers someone will know the details.

On Monday you can call the company or pro resellers for support. Most cities have a pro photo retailer that handles Bogen-Manfrotto.
