I am trying to put a avi file on a dvd so I can watch it on my dvd player and TV. I tried FAVC and it will not go. It says I either do not have the latest version of AVISYTH (I do) or I am missing codecs for this. (Think this is the issue) How do I fix this and get it to work?
Thanks

Try AVI2ISO if you want a free AVI to DVD encoder, it uses HCEnc to encode, everything is included with the package and more importantly it works
It also uses avisynth and I have tried some very complex filters and functions with it that worked as they should. A LOT of alleged software refuses to work with anything other than very basic avisynth filters, this isn't one of them
Or, try ConvertXtoDVD and it will also burn your DVD when its completed. But it ain't free
I've been using that for a long time and its very very rarely refused to convert AVI files back to DVD. Just remember to change the encoder quality to 'high quality' and the default setting is pooo and terrible quality
It does a pretty good job of convert full definition HD MKV's to DVD and HD AVI's to DVD, but they will take some time as it has a lot of work to do
A 'standard' AVI takes about 9-11 minutes, a HD MKV takes about an hour and thats running on a Q6600 running at 3.2ghz
