I had my cad lab teacher design me a 8mm guide for my Epson Perfection V500 scanner.
He built it with the machining equipment and now I get terrific scans and accurate scans.

I am now to the point of needing to strip the images from the scanned strip. 8mm2avi has a good grasp but is WAY too buggy to be usefull.

When you set it to automatically extract the images it gets off and strips in the middle of two frames. If you set it to manual it does just fine but some images are off by 1 pixel in size so VirtualDub will not render them into an avi.

I also noticed when you load the next strip, 8mm2avi still shows the content of the previous strip and extracts the same old information as before even though I have a new strip loaded.

I need a program to strip these out into jpg or bmp and etc. I can then render them into a video editor.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I can run Linux on this machine as well if I need to go that route.

Those Epson Vx00 series scanners are nice. I use a V300 for documents.

I agree! I did about 500 35mm slides from the 60's and 70's. I used the infrared cleaning and scanned them at 3200dpi and the results were amazing.
