Hi forum!!! Any suggestions as to which software I can use to Rip my video clips from dvds?
I want to maintain the high quality, but at the same time I want a small file size.

The clips are only about 30seconds each.

    Thanks!

Convert to avi xvid/divx or mp4 h264 using avidemux, fairuse wizard or xvid4psp. If you need to cut out clips from the dvd use dvd shrink in the reauthoring mode or cut directly in fairuse wizard, avidemux.

Hi Baldrick...thanks for your reply. I am trying out fairuse and the process is taking quite long for a 45 second clip. (15min) Is this normal? My setting is on mp4 fast.

If your computer specs are correct and you only have a 800mhz computer than yes any type of video conversion will take quite a long time.

You should consider upgrading to a dual core processor if your serious about doing a lot of video conversion. The time saved will be well worth the investment.

Oops.. I have not updated!! That was a while back..I'm on a 2.53ghz with 512mb ram.

I want the converted format to be no more than 40mb and I want it to be in quicktime format. Can fairuse wizard produce this? Again, the clips are only 45 seconds in length.

    Thank you

If Fairuse Wizard doesn't do what you want, I beleive MPEG Streamclip will convert from MPEG2 to Quicktime, although the DVD would have to be ripped first if it is copy protected.
