    Whenever I watch a movie that has 7.1 sound, when the movie gets loud my speakers crackle and whistle very loudly. I tried converting it to 5.1 channel with Ripbot264 but I can only convert half the movie for some reason.

    Is there a program that converts to 5.1 channel on the fly? Or how can I stop the whistling another way?

    Did you try ac3 filter?

    Yes, I set the AC3 filter to 5.1 channel but it's still making those noises. Do you know if there are any other settings I should use, like changing the rate or the PCM format?
