    Sometimes (not always) when I launch a template within the NeroBurningROM to create either a music CD or DVD compliant disc, the BurningROM crashes and gives me the standard Windows error message (IE: "This app had to close...blah blah blah").

    Then it takes me back to the StartSmart screen where usually I can just reload the BurningROM, at which time it will usually works with no problems.

    Anyone know if one of the updates released for Nero 9 has addressed this issue or know what alternatively might be causing it? It's incredibly annoying to load an app for it to crash for literally no reason. This usually happens at fairly random times.

    Uninstall Nero, then run the Nero Removal Tool from ahead, then, if you must use Nero, reinstall.

    If you are still having issues after that, try the update. Otherwise it is something else on your system clashing with Nero.

    Thanks for the info.

    However, removing it isn't really an option for me. I've also had issues in the past that have gotten worse from updates, so if anyone can verify the update would fix this specific crash issue, that would be great.

    I just don't want to cause my problems than I solve.

    You want to solve your Nero problems ? Get rid of it. There are so many better alternatives.

    Nero generates a burning log. I suspect you may find the reason for the crashes in there. You can post it here if you like. Delete the Nero serial number before posting.

    Unfortunately the specifics you supplied "This app had to close...blah blah blah" is not not listed in any Nero Change Logs.
