    Hi,

I have converted avi and mpg files around 300-400mb in size to 50-70mb avi xvid files 720 x 576.

I want to further reduce the file size (without reeducing quality) by reducing resolution but when I do this it doesn't reduce the file size any further than the original conversion, ideally I want to get all file sizes down to 50mb and below for ease of download.

I have three video download programs with around 800mb total file sizes and I want to reduce these some more for convenience for downloaders.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Filesize = Running Time X Bitrate. resolution doesn't enter into it. If you want smaller, reduce the bitrate, or cut the files into smaller pieces. Where resolution does come have an impact is by giving the smaller bitrate less area to encode - reduce the resolution, and you reduce the damage done by the lower bitrate.
