I'm running Leopard on a MacBook Pro and I need to know how to view a dvd rip I downloaded. Attached are pictures of the file names. I joined all the .rar files with Unrar but was left with a folder full of extensions staring with "r". Do I need another software program to do something with these files?

    Thanks

Those appear to be multi-part RAR files. You should be able to find a Mac converter/extractor for them. Maybe UnrarX: http://www.unrarx.com/

If they are already extracted, try VLC Media Player on one of them and see if they will play individually. Otherwise, they may still need extraction.

I used Unrar to extract the initial files I downloaded, which had the .rar extension. After I extracted those, I got what you see in the attached pic. I tried to open up the files in the pic with Unrar as you suggested but they are all grayed out. Maybe I'll try VLC. Thanks.

With most RAR archives, the files are decoded and assembled fairly automatically by the 'unrar' software into their final format. If any of the individual files would play, then they may just need combining. But what you show doesn't look like a VIDEO_TS folder file from a DVD, so there may still be a problem.

From their title, that looks more like a Xvid video, not a DVD. If so, the parts may play and just need combining. Or it's a fake or corrupted file.

Yeah I know. I've never had this problem. It usually combines them into an .avi format or a series of .VOB files. Never seen anything like it. I did get an .avi file, but it's just a sample of the movie

looking at the files they are still RARed, sometimes twirps Rar a movie with a password then rar the already Rared file again without a password so it looks like their is no password. Is there a text file somewhere telling you to go to a website to get a password?..... or it could be just a fake.
I never download Rared files unless it's verified that it's legit. Also check out where you downloaded it from in the comments section to see what other people have found

HERE is the page I downloaded from:

http://www.freshdl.com/movies/1/jcvd-(2008)-dvdrip.xvid%11fd.html (they were the megaupload links)

There was a readme txt file but all it said was:
