I have the latest version of WM Recorder. It's working well for two streams I like to grab, one wmv and one flv; but I want to edit out small segments of each and I'm having issues.

The wmv: the files play, but I can't seem to use anything to edit them, including Vegas, which I prefer. When I open in Vegas, it's almost like it's a double audio stream. I have to convert the file, but it doesn't seem to convert audio properly, so I have to use the video from the converted file and the good audio from the original. Not fun.

The flv: I'm getting monster flv files, and if the file name is any indication, it is an h264 mp4 converted file. I'm just not sure what to use to convert it to something editable as VLC and alltoavi, two programs I successfully used in the past, treat the file like it's a blank 3-second clip.

vegas can edit the new mp4 HD type files if you are referring to the new stuff from youtube. if not where are they from?

you'd have to post a sample of the wmv or at least the url where you are getting them from to give you any help with them.

I have had nothing but problems with WM Recorder. I am actually trolling the forums because I read a post way back when about how WM Recorder caused corruption which made it hard to convert the wmv's into something else.

This guy said he switched to another program and hasn't had any issues since. Hopefully I can find the post and i will reference it here.
