  1. Hello all,

I am puzzled why I cant ripped completely with the latest version of Smartripper without getting block errors. I tried ripping Saving Private Ryan and The Skull. Both takes soo long with Smartripper because of the block errors. Clad and Decrypt works just fine. I have tried both a Toshiba SCSI dvdrom and a 16X Pioneer IDE DVD-rom and the result with Smartripper is the same. Any suggestion on how to cure this problem? TIA. :-?

    I agree Stan

Have you tried any other ripping proggy ? DVD Decrypter, etc ? Were these unsuccessful as well ???

If it's the aspi - search the net for ForceASPI or it's at doom9.org

    Otherwise, clean off the DVD.

One other guess (though I doubt this is the problem), is that anti copying is built into the DVD drives.
I found out the hard way that thats the case with my Pioneer A-03 burner, which displayed the same symptoms you're getting.

However, I can understand why they would put those circuits into a burner (futile as that idea is), but not in a simple player.

  5. Thanks for the response guys. Yes the ASPI is up to date (used forceaspi to install it). I checked with ASPICHK.exe and the ASPI layer is installed properly . One more thing I forgot to mention is im running WinXP pro ver and dual AMD cpu (asus MPX mobo) setup. Dont know if this matters.

DVD Decrypter as well as Clad works fine. But I need to use Smartripper for my project. I did clean the DVD discs before ripping. [/quote]
