Hello Everyone, I have a underwater camera that is powered on a 12v battery. The camera output is a RCA video plug. Does anyone know of any wireless transmitter that runs off 12v that could send a signal that my laptop could recognize with its internal wireless card?

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks, Ben

    Not from underwater !
Must be wired. Unless you can afford a Navy type sonar imager. That won't be live video but a series of stills.

I better clarify.. The camera video signal comes from the end of the cable along with the power source. I know they have wireless transmitters that can send this wireless signal to a receiver. My question is if there is a wireless transmitter that will send a signal my laptop can pick-up with out an additional receiver that is attached to the laptop. Currently I have a RCA to USB converter that is hard wired to the camera leads.

    Thanks for the input, Ben

There are a couple of transmitters/receivers here that may be what you are looking for: http://www.supercircuits.com/Wireless-Devices/Video-Links/MVL10#specs The one to the right is weather resistant. If either transmitter were packaged properly, they could be waterproof.

If you look around the site a bit more, there are other options, but most are fairly expensive for professional equipment.

EDIT: Most of those recievers have a composite video out. If you have a computer adapter that accepts composite video on your computer, they would work.

Great idea guys! I never thought of converting it to a UHF signal, that should work great.

    Thanks for all the help..
