  1. Hi,
I've a Toshiba SD-M1502 dvd rom & a 8x CED 8080B cd burner with EasyCD ver. 4.02 software. I just bought a new vcd & would like to make a copy of it. Is there a way to do it with what I've got? I had tried CDcopier using 16x Acer cd-r but didn't work. Please help. Thanks.

  2. the original vcd wont copy because the file is probably biggerf than the 650mb or 700 on the cd you are copying too. However it can still be copied with out overburn. VCDs use a different mode to normal cds called Mode2/XA, but programs like CDCopier automatically think it will be mode 1. Mode 2 can actually record 740mb and 800 on a 74 and 80mb cd respectively.

What you have to do then, is download Nero (Or upgrade to Easy CD 5 Platinum, but that is quite pants, so i wouldnt recomend it), and select create new VCD. then drag the .dat file(s) you want onto the project. It may take a while to validate it but dont worry, and make sure this is in the drive that ISNT the copier, the dvd one i guess.

If it say that it isnt standrad, tell it to turn off VCD compliance.

    Then just hit burn

Hope this helps - if you have ne other problems just reply.

I would suggest, get yourself CloneCD.
CloneCD will copy a CD at RAW-level (your CDR and CDRW must support it, install ASPI and they most likely will - accept if you have low-budget hardware!).
CloneCD can copy almost anything. Even CD's with special keys on it (like game-cd's)...
