  1. I have used Vegas Platinum 8.0 to edit my HDV-films. Out of this i have created a new file in HD for future use. I have today no HD-player or television. I therefore wonder if there is some deteriotion in the picture when I have edited. I have for the whole film (almost two hours) inserted date and time.
When I earlier used Dvtimestamp or Dvdate FOR DV-files, it was only the little part of the picture where the datestamp was printed that was changed. Is it the same with HDV-MPG2-files?

No, the entire video will be re-encoded.

Even if you hadn't added the date and time throughout, I don't think Vegas Platinum 8 supports "smart rendering" for HDV, so everything you edited would have been re-encoded anyway.

    Cheers,
    David.
