  1. Hi,

I recorded one DVD movie and burnt DVD disc for it on DVD-RW. However, I found DVD format too inconvinence for me to backup so I used TSUNAMI MPEG DVD EasyPack Suite and converted the DVD chapter to MPEG-2 format. However, when I played back the converted MPEG-2 file, I found left and right NICAM audio channels mixed into one and all video players available (VLC media player, Windows Media Player, Real player, QuckTimer player) play the audio channels at the same time (that is, I heard 2 languages simultaneously). Could anyone tell me how to fix the problem ?

PS: the audio formats available for TSUNAMI MPEG DVD EasyPack Suite conversion program were MPEG-1 Audio Layer II, Linear PCM & Dolby Digital (default I choosed this).

use dvdshrink and re-author to main movie only with one audio steam selected. then you can use vob2mpg and convert the vobs to mpg.

Does that mean I have no way to embed 2 streams in single mpeg file and make the channels selectable when being played back ?

I found those .vob files under /VIDEO_TS subdirectory of the DVD but there are many of them. I don't know which .vob files contain the video I want. How could I extract the portion of video I need from those .vob files ? Could I make one single .vob file from those files and retain both audio channels ?

use dvdshrink in reauthor mode and you can cup out the portion you want and select which audio channels to keep. it will make a new dvd spec video_ts folder for you with what you want.
