I am wondering if it's possible to watch video on TV that is playing on PC via wireless connection. I have a computer upstairs and TV downstairs. Can I connect my PC to TV without the cables (DVI, VGA, HDMI)?

Also will the connection be fast enough to play .m2ts high definition video without lagging?

I would probably need a home system with WiFi in order to receive the signal from PC, right?

Check out slingbox. I don't know if they have a high def version yet. I do know they have a component version I'm pretty sure.

I don't know what the status is on their wifi versions.

The only catch is as far as i know it is still difficult to do sustained video over wifi. At least on the b/g front. N may be the beginning of good wifi high def video but even that may not be enough for stable video.

For a wired solution a ps3 might be your better bet. It cna do m2ts I'm pretty sure through help with tversity.

  3. Even Radio Shack has an "AV sender" that you can hook up to any PC and any TV for wireless Audio/Video. Bandwidth is not an issue, however, interference can be. The antenna's are directional, like a micro dish, point in the general direction of each other, start a video on your computer and then fuss like you used to do with rabbit ears

I checked out the SlingBox Slingcatcher and this is what it says on their website:

"SlingProjector software for your PC lets you select any area (up to 1024 x 768) on your computer screen to project onto your big screen TV."

It doesn't say anything about HD, so i guess they don't support it yet...

I never knew that u can install software on PS3, as I'm not into games. I did some searching and Tversity really is capable of playing m2ts and even mkv files... The only problem is, PS3 costs about 300 pounds, which is quite a lot, especially if I won't be using it for what it was made for (playing games)...

Is there anything similar to PS3, but cheaper? If not, is there a hard drive that can be connected to TV (with HDMI cable) which is capable of playing mt2s files? It might be easier than transmitting data via WiFi...

Radio Shack is not quite what I was looking for...

    EDIT:
I have created a new thread, because it's a different topic, so not to go offtopic in this thread:
