I was trying to load a .mkv video using the Vdubmod but it gave me an error:
"MKV: Video frames seems to be weirdly ordered.
Couldn't locate decompressor for format 'ÿÿÿÿ' (unknown). VirtualDub requires a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable. Only 'Direct stream copy' is available for this video."
Does anyone know what i can do to load it properly in vdubmod?

vdubmod hasn't been updated in years and doesn't support newer .mkv revisions, but make sure you have the appropriate vfw codec enabled in ffdshow (use mediainfo to check, eg. it might be h264) -> set it to "libavcodec"
if you want to open it directly, use avidemux instead
you could also use an .avs script as input if you were dead set on using vdubmod
